Had another go at getting back to 1959. All the valves worked but the positioning controls went haywire again and brought me in over Switzerland again. They seem to be catching on to our theory about time travel and I tried to overlay Higgs Bosun with integer spin. I filtered out the fermions because they have half-integer spin in accordance with spin-statistics theory.

A lot of good it did me though.

It spoiled the Higgs Bosun experiment giving away the fact that particles can travel faster than light and bouncing me even further into the future.

I went from October 2011 to January 2012.

At least I missed Christmas. Christmas in 2011 is dire. The only good thing is re-runs of a comedy duo called Morcambe and Wise. I suggest you look out for them, they will do well!

Are you any further forward in getting me back to 1959? It’s  awful  here in 2012!

It’s rubbish here in the future. It’s not what we thought. No jet packs, cars still run on petrol. Atomic power didn’t take off as we thought. Not a Robot in sight. Everyone dispenses their own drinks, and do their own cleaning. There is a lot of leisure but that’s any because so many people are out of work. Those who are employed work 60 hours per week. That’s not right!

The signal’s getting weak, I’ll send more later.

 

More problems with the time Machine and Blackberries

I’ve replaced those valves and by-passed one of the faulty temporal circuits to boost my transmissions back to 1959. Unfortunately this made the time machine transmission crystals overheat and a crossed connection caused a problem with some sort of a telephone circuit  for blackberries. How they use blackberries to make phone calls here in 2011 I still can’t work out. However I’ve bypassed the circuit again and all seems to be well. I’ve learned more about life in 2011 and I’ll tell you more next time.

Still stranded in 2011 on my way to 2059. Several valves have gone in the time machine which might explain why I lost temporal control. It’s hard to get them in 2011 as most things have little teeny tiny things called transistors. I managed to find someone at the BBC Radio long wave transmitter to let me have a few of  his last remaining stock. Not bad since they are cutting back on all things and when they run out – no more cricket on the wireless!

Luckily I went to a shop which sells second-hand clothing to fight famine in Oxford of all places. anyway, I picked up a Harris Tweed sports jacket and some decent cavalry twill slacks with a bow tie. This seemed to meet the approval of the people at the exhibition who kept coming up to me as if they knew me!. I gave my autograph to some of them but they seemed disappointed when the saw my signature!

The pink spandex jump suit you gave me to wear in 2059 turned out to be a mistake for 2011 had it not been for a convention I stumbled upon when I emerged near Baker Street in London. It turns out that all these other people I merged with were going to an exhibition about a T.V. series about a doctor. Who it was I don’t know, but there was a mechanical dog there and a 1950s police call box.

Time traveler to HM Control Classification: Top Secret

No joy with the deposited funds. Which clever person in the department decided to  use Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC in 1960. All the funds are gone from there. And whose bright idea was it to buy shares in an Icelandic bank?

Luckily those Premium Bonds my mother bought for me came up trumps and I have a small amount to keep me going until you rescue me.

The temporal and positioning controls hit a massive disturbance around November2008 which pulled me over from England to Geneva, Switzerland. I felt an enormous force which catapulted me over to Iceland to a place called Fimmvörðuháls. The Time machine experienced another huge force which catapulted me into 2011 and I have landed somewhere in Great Britain
